Pheasant Hill Playground

The official opening of the new playground at Pheasant Hill took place on Saturday 10 June at noon.

It was wonderful to see so many familes out in the sunshine looking forward to trying the new equipment.

Councillor Jane Chamberlain said, ‘The Parish Council decided a couple of years ago that the playground needed a facelift and so began the process of questioning residents about what types of equipment they would like to have and what style playground was wanted. Most people who responded to our surveys wanted a playground that was in keeping with this beautiful surrounding countryside and a playground that reflected the natural feel of the environment. More importantly was the need to make the new playground accessible to young children of all abilities, so we have included more sensory features and inclusive equipment. I am sure you’ll agree that we have met the needs of our parishioners.

Installing a new playground is a lot more expensive than you would imagine, in addition we wanted to make the playground larger to accommodate more children and a larger space meant more equipment which meant higher costs.

The Parish Council are very grateful to Bucks Council’s Local Community Board and Align working in partnership with HS2 for their funding, which together with funds from the Parish Council enabled us to install the amazing playground.’

Chairman of the Parish Council Gordon Patrick BEM cut the ribbon to officially open the playground.

This was followed by a fun duck race along the River Misbourne. Followed by prizes for all the entrants.
