The Conservation Volunteers run a 'Green Gym' in CSG

The team will be at The Riverside Walk, which is a small green space at the end of Chalfont St Giles high street, that has the river Misbourne running through it. It’s a lovely spot!

Task:

10 November: 10:30am-1:30pm

This week we will be helping Chalfont St Giles parish council to clear back over grown vegetation along the River Misbourne and scalloping the bramble vegetation along the chalk stream. We will also be planting bulbs.

Meeting point:

Meeting point will be the village duck pond

What to expect on the day:

  • A through health and safety talk and tool demonstration
  • A few warm up exercises to get us moving
  • 3 hours of vegetation clearance with a break for a satsuma in the middle
  • There are no toilets directly on this site, but nearby public toilets just up the road a few mins walking distance (mask recommended)
  • Social distancing – This is a publicly accessible site and so we will need to remember to socially distance from the public as well as each other. Regular reminders about 2m social distancing.
  • There will be no tool sharing or PPE sharing to keep us Covid Secure.
  • Disinfectant and antibacterial gel station will be set up at the beginning of the day for you to use throughout.
  • Unfortunately there will be no tea kit available at this time so please do bring some tea if you want some and plenty of water.

Do Bring:

  • Sturdy boots – wellies if you have them
  • Water
  • Tea (if it’s your thing) and a snack
  • Warm and waterproof clothes and/or sun cream and sun hats
  • Gloves if you have them, but if not we will always have a supply of new gloves for you to keep for future tasks

Covid security:

Please do not attend project if anybody in your household has coronavirus symptoms or has tested positive in the last 2 weeks. If you test positive or develop symptoms up to 48 hours after being on a TCV project, please do let the project leader know.
